Great, authentic food in a clean, simple environment. The people are great and really love the ethnic food they make. A pleasure to eat at a rare gem "hole in the wall." The potato rolls are not to be missed!

The food here is always fresh and the owner is friendly and personable. I stop in from time to time with my elderly mother and she enjoys it very much.

Pork chops were dry. Other than that everything was delicious!

The owner Mike and his family including his mom take great pride in running the joint and putting quality food in your belly. Its very basic inside, I'm assuming it was the owner, he added it in for free since I said this was my first time there. The owners were very nice. I've come here since I was a kid. The food has only gotten better!

Very good comida Boricua. They have been in Bridgeport over 50 years. The previous location was East Main Street and Cedar Street. All of the hot food is out by 11 but you can get some stuff earlier.

This place is always clean,avariety of people go there for mostly capricious Spanish food and regular fare.If you have a sweet tooth it also can has something for you like rice pudding ,flan and even ice cream...great stop for lunch dinner guaranteed to to fill you up till your is content

I’ve been going to La Cagueña Restsurant for about 50 years since their previous location on East Main St. Food is always fresh & delicious and service friendly. I live about an hour away and any time business takes me to Fairfield County, I coordinate a trip to La Cagueña. My favorite dishes are the rice & beans with beef stew & red kidney beans. Add in sweet fried plantains, a potato ball and the pastry who’s name I forget that’s stuffed with chicken. Always have a champagne cola and flan when they have it. I love this place. Nd highly recommend you try it!

Based on good reviews (since we are not from the area), I decided to purchase food from this restaurant. I wanted to satisfy my mother’s craving to eat Puertorican food, and Wow!! We were so disappointed. The alcapurrias of yautia ended up being some type of mashed potato patty (not the round ones) with cheap ground meat that taste bland. The banana alcapurrias were worse, they’re usually cooked with roasted pork and instead it had some type of ground meat that tasted like plastic. The fish was also poorly cooked. I would not recommend their food at all to any I care about!! I am sorry, but they cut too many corners compromising taste and quality with recipes! The food is not authentic.

Great place that doesn't skimp on quality despite being there for over 30 years! Reasonable prices for traditional Puerto Rican food a must try.

All the food is excellent. I especially love the beans. De pasteles very very good. Boneless chicken excellent. The owner very good human being. Specials on Thursday. Chicken with rice excellent must-try. On all for me close to where I live. Love the food.

I've been here quite a few times and each and every time the service, the foodand the atmosphere within the restaurant is very good. it is a place that you can consider a safe bet if hoping that ultimately the food will taste good. It's good and consistently good. I believe undervalued and forgotten as to it being a reliable choice at it's current location. Try it, u won't regret it. I sure didn't and my kids either;

Have never eaten true spanish food before i ate here, food made fresh everyday, go there for lunch or early dinner because if u wait too long there will not be food to pick from because they only make enough to last the day, affordable pricing, great owners, will be back.
